Sean is a former McKinsey & Company consultant and experienced M&A attorney with a strong background in corporate transactions, venture capital, and private equity.

He began his legal career at Wyrick Robbins, a leading regional firm, where he represented entrepreneurs, investors, and acquirers in complex middle-market transactions. Over the course of his practice, Sean has closed more than 30 deals ranging from $700,000 to $100 million in enterprise value.

Sean serves Of Counsel at SMB Law Group, advising clients on principal-led acquisitions and lower middle-market M&A for select clients.

Beyond his client work, Sean is the Founder & Executive Director of The Charlotte ETA Group, a nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to entrepreneurship through acquisition. He also manages Vintage96 Capital, a long-term holding company, and Planchard Ikigai, his personal investment vehicle through which he has taken private positions across startups, small businesses, and investment funds.

Sean earned his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School, where served as President of the Student Government. He received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Colorado Boulder, graduating summa cum laude, With Distinction, and as the top graduate in his department. He was also awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to Madrid, Spain, and began his career as a Teach For America corps member, where he was nominated as one of the best teachers in the Dallas–Fort Worth region.
