David A. Brackett serves as Chief Operating Officer of SMB Law Group LLP, where he leads firmwide strategy, operations, and growth initiatives. Since joining the firm as its first non-founder hire in early 2023, David has played a central role in scaling the organization from an early-stage practice into one of the most active firms serving lower-middle-market M&A and Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA) clients.

At SMB Law Group, David acts as an integrator and strategic advisor to the partnership, overseeing day-to-day operations while driving long-term initiatives across revenue growth, systems, talent, and product development. Under his leadership, the firm has grown revenue by more than 350%, expanded headcount across multiple countries, launched new service lines, and implemented scalable internal infrastructure.

Prior to SMB Law Group, David worked in acquisitions and corporate development for RHP Properties, the nation’s largest private owner-operator of manufactured housing communities, where he supported M&A strategy and helped close approximately $800 million in transactions. Earlier in his career, he worked in professional services sales at Thomson Reuters, advising small and mid-sized firms on workflow, technology, and growth strategy.

David is also a partner in SMBash, the original self-funded search conference for small business buyers and investors. He holds a Bachelor of Arts with High Distinction from the University of Michigan, where he graduated with honors including Phi Beta Kappa and the James B. Angell Scholar designation.
