Job Title: Associate
Company Name: SMB Law Group
Location: Anywhere, Remote-Based
Job Type: Full Time
Experience: 2-10 years
SMB Law Group is the modern business law firm designed to support and protect Main Street businesses at each stage of their growth.
We’re comprised of former “big law” attorneys who have worked at elite firms like Cravath, Kirkland & Ellis and Gibson Dunn.
We’re building a legal business, not just another bland law firm.
1. Family First:
- When you’re living through the corporate grind, it can be challenging to find time for everything else that’s important to you. When our co-founders decided to leave “Big Law” to start their own boutique firm, time spent outside of work with family and friends was a huge priority – and it’s going to stay that way. With us, you’ll enjoy that same work-life balance.
2. Entrepreneurial Spirit:
- SMB Law Group is a firm built by entrepreneurs, for entrepreneurs. Our small business owning-clients appreciate that we’re agile and innovative just like them, and we don’t have big office bureaucracy slowing us down.
3. Remote Always:
- SMB Law Group will always be remote. Not only does this allow us to support small business owners and buyers from across the country, but gives our partners the opportunity to live where, and how, they want – without having to worry about commutes, relocations, or office politics.
- Totally Remote. Forever and ever. No “return dates.” No traffic jams. No missed dinners or bed times. Want to work from the Bahamas? Send us a postcard (subject to compliance with applicable ethical rules)!
- Compensation. SMB Law Group LLP offers a competitive salary structure. Compensation is based upon the roles and responsibilities of the position, the experience and education of the applicant. The hiring salary range for this position is commensurate with years of experience., from $85,000 - $200,000. These figures are not representative of the full compensation range for this position.
- Type of Work. Almost all of your work will be managing buy-side and sell-side M&A deals—drafting documents, running diligence, etc. That being said, there is plenty of general corporate and other work. We’re just not fighting with anyone, if you know what we mean (litigation, cough cough)? That being said, while general corporate/transaction experience is required, but direct M&A experience isn't - we can teach you!
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in general corporate or M&A transactions and possess excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. The Associate will advise on all aspects of M&A transactions, including due diligence, drafting and negotiating transaction documents, and providing strategic advice to clients.
